The architecture of this building gives the impression of a school rather than a prison, although located opposite to the state prison for adults. This was consciously designed as a strategy to help and indicate the convicted juvenility's psychology, to feel more in an educational institution rather than sentenced. The color palette introduced in interiors and exterior is an additional feature added to the project to complete this thought. Additionally, window fences as requested by the client, are designed in a artistic pattern rather than a simple prison fence.
The functional scheme was developed based on the clients requests (Ministry) and literature on architecture and psychology of these delicate spaces. All indoor spaces are naturally illuminated and ventilated, with inner courtyard and common spaces. Additional to indoor learning and craft classrooms, the building has an indoor sports hall for activities.
