Architectural Design

The institute is dedicated to crime sentenced individuals who are psychologically challenged, therefore the security is the main variable when the architectural design was concepted. It's a single story building with spaces distributed and stretched generously around an inner courtyard. The courtyard is designed as a controlled outdoor space for the convicted but at the same time provides light to functions around it. The medical staff spaces, as same as the patients spaces are evenly and sufficiently lit to create a good working environments and help the convicted patients improve and maintain their psychological performance.

The challenge of this project was to provide anti-vandal and easy maintenance approach on material, furniture and appliance choice, specifically at the patients rooms.
